BookThe 3 Mistakes of My Life (Kai Po Che Movie Tie-In Edition)
In late 2000, a young boy in Ahmedabad dreams of owning a business. To accommodate his friends’ passion, he opens a cricket shop. However, nothing comes easy in a turbulent city. To realise their goals, they will have to face it all—religious politics, calamities, unacceptable love and, above all, their own mistakes. Will they make it? Can an individual’s dreams overcome the nightmares of real life? Can we succeed despite mistakes?
Based on real events, from bestselling author Chetan Bhagat comes another dark, witty tale about modern India, where the author brings the ethos and isolation of an entire generation to the fore.
Interesting Facts : About the Author :
CHETAN BHAGAT is the author of five novels, all of which have gone on to become blockbuster sellers since they were released. They have also been adapted into major Bollywood films. In addition to being a bestselling author, Chetan is a motivational speaker and columnist. He was named one of the ‘100 Most Influential People in the World’ by Time magazine and one of the world’s ‘100 Most Creative People in Business’ by Fast Company, USA. He lives in Mumbai with his wife Anusha, an ex-classmate from IIM-A, and his twin boys, Shyam and Ishaan.good purchase experience, but I orderer one more book which was not delivered due to out of stock.Got the book in very innovative packing. Very good condition and within 2 days.
I am sure to do more shopping with infibeam. When i read other reviews about this book and also enquired with my friends, they were not very happy about this book but when i read this book i felt the same language which we are used to from Chtan's books, yes it is no where near to his works like "Five Point someone" or "2 States" but it isnt bad either, the way he gives background to each character and ties up all the loose ends together is what i like in this book as well, it also touches a few sensitive aspects of Gujrat but also explains how they impact business and people.
On delivery front, i received the book in 3 days, which is pretty fast and the packing was good with no bent edges etc and the price is also good so a thumbs up for thatWhile reading the epilogue I had thought that this novel would be the most boring of chetan’s all. But it wasn’t. In my perception this is best of all chetan’s books. Let us come to the story. The story is multi dimensional. One lane tells about the three boys struggling without a strong financial base and their efforts to boost up their status. Each of these boys also has an individual lane. Gopal has a love story with vidya, ishaan’s sister. Ishaan whose passion is cricket tries to bring up a Muslim kid Ali in cricket, who has super movement control power in brain by birth. Omi a Brahmin boy, orthodox in Hinduism is influenced by his mama, who wants to be an MLA. What happens when these intertwined lanes merge to a crescendo? Chetan comes with a convincing climax.
This story has three very strong points. First, it travels in parallel with some real incidents which skip a heartbeat of most of the people in India. Second, it has the controlling nerve of all Indians -cricket. It surely won’t miss to impress those who love cricket, like me. Third, Chetan handled the controversial Hindu- Muslim confrontation storyline very maturely. And as usual the English is simple to read. It won’t let you to search dictionary often.
The story has some negative points also. The epilogue starts with the suicide letter of Gopal mishra. But the reason for his suicide is not convincing (seems childish to me), as he is described as the matured among the three. The sequence in Australia is Mind-numbing. It could have been more gripping.hey i love the way u have packed book... its real nice book...This book is awesome...this is one of the best book written by Chetan Bhagat...True Friendship..Passion..Love..And Lot More....
